Computer Literacy Technology II

Computer Technology Literacy II will focus on the IT strands of Computer Maintenance and Networking. Like Computer Literacy Technology I, the class consists mainly of individual computer modules that focus on a particular topic; however students will go further in depth on a smaller number of units than the Computer Technology Literacy I course . Students work alone or in pairs to read the material, see the explanation or simulation, physically work with hardware (in some cases), and take the computer-based quizzes. At the end of a unit, the student(s) take(s) a computer-based test. Each module contains 6 units. In addition, units involving soft, people skills--Employability Skills, Customer Relations, Entrepreneurship--are included. Because of the nature of this class, students need to be able to work independently or semi-independently.

The following modules will be used in CTL II:
  • Computer Maintenance/Upgrading
  • Computer Troubleshooting
  • Investigating Computers
