  1. Academy Goal: to prepare students in the area of Information Technology for the world of work or college upon graduation
  2. Curriculum:
    1. College prep academic courses: math, science, social studies, English, foreign language, Fine Arts survey (will meet the TOPS requirements)
    2. Technology courses in the areas of Digital Media, Web Design, Programming, Computer Networking, Computer Repair and Maintenance, Databases
    3. Internship, arranged by Academy, in the area of IT in the summer between the junior and senior years
  3. AOIT students will attend academic and technology classes as a group.
  4. Application taken on-line from mid February to April 15.
  5. Only current eighth graders may apply. Students must pass to the ninth grade to be eligible. If there are more applicants than slots, a lottery wil be held.
  6. AOIT students are required to take the college prep curriculum and maintain a 2.5 to remain in the program.
  7. All eighth graders in Lafayette Parish may apply, even those from outside the Carencro High School attendance zone. Bus transportation will be provided for all out-of-zone students.
