On January 27, 2004, an AOIT team, consisting of the Co-Directors Kit Becnel and Joel Hilbun, Principal Annette Rath, students Casey Bienvenu, Katie Domingue, and Kyle Albarado, and AOIT Advisory Board Chair Mike Spears announced an innovative project to the Rebuild Lafayette North committee. Spears will begin hiking the Appalacian Trail, a 5 month, 2200 mile trek from northern Georgia to Maine through the Appalacian Mountains. Spears and AOIT students and faculty will collaborate in developing a database about the Appalacian Trail on www.luckycowboy.org, in conjunction with the Appalacian Trail Conservancy. |
