The red carpet will be rolled out for Carencro High School's Academy of Information Technology's Academy Awards on Saturday.The academy had more than 40 entries for the awards, which will honor student-produced videos, slide shows and animation works.
On Saturday, students and their guests will walk the red carpet at
Carencro High for the awards show, with a reception to follow.
Entry categories included animation, video entertainment, video
instructional nonfiction, video instructional nonfiction commercial,
slide show, best special effects, best technical quality, best
storytelling and best soundtrack.The academy began incorporating video work into the curriculum last year, said Kit Becnel, academy director.
"What
we do in the academy is embed and integrate technology
cross-curriculum, in all of our core classes - amongst the core classes
and with the technology classes," Becnel said.
Throughout the
year, students have produced instructional videos or videos focused on
the community as part of their curriculum, Becnel said.
This
