- Congratulations Joel Hilbun, Claire Trouard, and Kelly Brasseaux, AOIT technology teachers, for receiving Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification for Word 2003 in May 2008.
- Congratuations to Kelly Brasseaux, AOIT technology teacher, for receiving Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) in April 2008. This certification is granted for having demonstrated basic computer hardware, software, Internet knowledge and skills.
- Congratulations to Kit Becnel for being named the 2007-08 Schools of Choice Educators of the Yearin November 2007!!
- Congratulations to Claire Trouard, AOIT technology teacher for receiving certification as a Certified Internet Web Professional (CIW) from the CIW Advisory Counsel in Summer 2007. This certification demonstrates basic Internet, web design, and e-commerce concepts.

The CHS Academy of Information Technology was named as one of the top six NAF Academies in the nation at the National Academy Foundation Summer Institute in July 2007. The AOIT was awarded the Aldo Papone Award for Leadership in Academy High Performance on the cutting edge of high school re-design which, in addition to the recognition, results in a $2500 monetary award. Award Picture, School Board Recognition, and Times of Acadiana article. CHS was one of six programs in the nation which was recognized with this award.

Kit Becnel for being named in March 2007 to the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's Workforce Preparedness Committee and was named One of the Top 31 Women in Lafayette Parish - Article.
- Joel Hilbun for being profiled in the Daily Advertiser (Techie Profile) in Spring 2007 and in a short article in the Acadiana Weekly Newspaper (Article) in September 2007.
- AOIT graduate, Ryan Courville, was given a scholarship by the Scott Business Association in May 2007. Ryan is currently studying networking at the Louisiana Technical College. (Pictures)

Joel Hilbun and Richard McClendon for receiving a $1000 grant from the Acadiana Educational Endowment for a project entitled "Grid-Based Supercomputer" and to Joel Hilbun and Kit Becnel for receiving a $1000 grant from the Acadiana Educational Endowment to help support the Video and Animation Festival in Fall 2007.
